Flying is one of the fastest and most reliable ways to reach your destination in the World of Warcraft Classic, and Burning Crusade Classic offers more options than ever before.
One of the most exciting parts of World of Warcraft's Burning Crusade Classic is that for the first time, players will have access to flying mounts (at least outside of retail). This opens up a whole new dimension for players to explore Azeroth and the Outland in the game.
In this guide, we'll cover what the different types of flying are, the costs of flying, some of the ways to get flying mounts, and the special mounts you'll find in the TBC Classic Journey.
1. 60%, 280%, and 310% flying mounts and their costs
Normal Flying Mount - The first flying mount you will get in TBC Classic. The mount requires you to have the Epic Ground Mount skill, plus 800g to fly, plus 100g for the mount. Sadly, the first tier moves at only 60% in the air and on the ground.
Epic Flying Mount - Eventually you can move faster in the sky, but it will cost you. It costs 5000g and requires the previous flight speed, you also need to spend an additional 200g for the mount itself.
Special Flying Mounts - While 280% is the fastest speed for normal mounts, TBC has added some special mounts that can fly at 310%. Sadly, only the rare A'lar Ash and PVP Void Dragon can reach this speed.
2. Can I get WOW TBC CLASSIC flying mounts from reputation?
The three Reputation in TBC provide mounts for players, and while they don't give us access to flying mounts at a cheaper price than our suppliers, we can get more stylized mounts.
Netherwing:
Available when Exalted with Netherwing
Purchased from the Drake Dealer Hurlunk in the Netherwing Ledge Outpost in Shadowmoon Valley
Cost: 200g per mount, first mount is free. You will need a flying mount to complete the quest
Speed: 280%
Cenarion Expedition:
Obtained by reaching Exalted with the faction
Purchased from Fedryen Swiftspear in Zangermarsh
Cost: 2,000g
Speed: 280%
Sha’tari Skyguard:
Obtained by reaching Exalted with Sha’tari Skyguard
Purchased from Grella at the Sha’tari Sky Guard post in Black Wind Landing in Terokkar Forest
Cost: 200g
Speed: 280%
3. How to fly in WoW TBC Classic at a cheap price?
WoW Burning Crusade Classic in flying form
If you want to fly before everyone else and not spend thousands of gold, there is another way. However, only druids can take advantage of it.
Once Druids reach level 68, they can learn to fly, which allows them to turn their flying mounts into their own for the low price of 8 gold and 60 silver. There is also an "epic" flying form that offers a 100% speed boost, but the questline to unlock it still requires 5000 gold to complete.
So if you want to take to the skies while your guildies and friends are still walking around the earth like some kind of snake or worm, this is an easy choice: go with the Druid.
WoW Classic Parachute Poncho
We know that you are thinking "Dexerto, the Parachute Cloak doesn't let you fly, it just lets you glide" and you are 100% correct. However, it is still a great item and you can get a flying mount and use it before level 45.
All you need is level 225 engineering (or a friend who does), the recipe, the required materials, everything! No, you won't be able to fly anywhere you want to go, but falling damage will be a thing of the past and it will be very useful if you also like to run battlefield PvP.
That's all you need to know about flying in WoW Classic: The Burning Crusade. If you want to get a flying mount, make sure you save your WOW TBC Classic gold.
