What Items Can You Socket in Diablo 2 Resurrected
What can I socket in D2R? You can socket your helmet, body armor, shield, melee weapons, and missile weapons, you can also socket a normal ethereal item in the game, however, you can’t socket a throwing weapon, rings, belts, amulets, gloves, and boots. You won't hurt anything in trying to use Larzuk or a cube recipe, because nothing will happen, but just be mindful that you have to focus on the top of this that once a Diablo 2 item is socketed, you can’t socket it once again, that means you will not be able to socket one item twice.
How to socket superior items in Diablo 2? You can’t leverage the Horadric Cube recipe to roll a superior base, the only way for you to socket this is to take it to Larzuk, in which case it's going to yield the maximum output.
D2R Horadric Cube Socket Recipes and Rules
If you are socketing items with Horadric Cube, there are some rules you should know.
- Cube socket recipe works for normal or ethereal non-superior items.
- The amount of sockets is randomly ranging from 1 to 6, depending on the item type and item level
- Item level is basically the same as the monsters that dropped the item.
How to add sockets to items in D2R? For example, if you want to add sockets to a weapon, you need to combine the said weapon with Ral and Amn D2 runes and a perfect amethyst in the Horadric Cube, and then click the Transmute button. The recipe can be used to add randomly one to six sockets to a normal or ethereal unsocketed weapon, not for low-quality and superior bases.

D2R Larzuk Socket Quest
For Larzuk, there are three chances for you to get these socket quests in Diablo 2 Act V, one in Normal, Nightmare, and Hell respectively.
- When it comes to normal (gray or white) items, Larzuk quest is always guaranteed to roll the maximum capacity of that base, so pay attention to the item level and the monster area level of where you acquired the item.
- For rare, set, unique, and crafted items, you are only going to get one socket from Larzuk.
- For magical items, you have the opportunity to get one or two sockets, each has a 50% chance.
The number of sockets from the Larzuk quest is only determined by the item level, not affected by the difficulty. If you were to find a Crystal Sword outside of Cows and rush to Larzuk, you would be met with Grief because Larzuk is going to grant you three sockets, not four. However, if you were to find a Crystal Sword in normal in Cows and you bring that level item to Larzuk, you will actually get four for the Spirit roll.
