Diablo 2 Resurrected Windforce VS Faith - Which Is Better | D2R Battle Of The Bows
11/6/2021 2:46:41 PM

In Diablo 2 Resurrected, Bowazons usually have to choose between Faith and Windforce. But it’s hard to decide which is better due to different situations. So in this article, we discuss the difference between Diablo 2 Windforce and Faith from various aspects, including stats, skills, gameplay, advantages, damages and more.

Diablo 2 Resurrected Windforce VS Faith, Battle Of The Bows

We are taking out the old classic Windforce hydro bow, this was the prize, the gem, the jewel, the most sought after and expensive D2R item. We're facing it up against Faith, we're matching up these two bows today to how Windforce stacks up against Faith. Read on and get to know which is better, Windforce or Faith and why.

Overview Of Windforce Vs Faith

The Windforce is a unique hydra bow. You can socket with a Shael rune. If you're going to use Windforce, obviously you'd want to put a socket in it and sail gets shael rather gets that attack speed up 20% more. The Windforce does have a higher overall increased attack speed than the faith rune word, but faith also has a fanaticism or a level 15 fanaticism.

Faith is a notch faster, but it is pretty darn close and fanaticism aura at level 15 gives you a 288 damage bonus, a 33 attack speed bonus and a 110 increased attack rating. Also, your party gets a bonus to damage.

In terms of raw damage, the hydra bow has 244 to 3693 damage whereas faith has higher lower-end damage 596 to lower higher-end damage 3140. In terms of additional modifiers, the Windforce has a knockback and it also has a nice little 8% mana stolen per hit, a little bit of strength, a little bit of dexterity and heal stamina plus 30%. This competition is over clearly the wind force wins.

On the other hand, the Faith has that level 15 fanaticism aura, it also has 2 all skills and you put that into a grand matron bow for an additional 2 to bow and crossbow skills. 4 to bow and crossbow skills and here's a huge component of the Faith rune word and that is ignored targets defense that strips out a target's defense rating, that is going to make so many more targets so much easier to hit. It really matters that much with that fanaticism aura and an attack rating bonus that's just a huge attack rating. This Amazon could fire this bowl blindfolded behind her back and it would still hit its target every single time. On the faith rune word, a very nice 15 to all resistances and a weird little 10 reanimate as returned which is quirky and cute. The faith will have probably a slightly better chance of hitting targets every time but not by a huge amount but that attack rating bonus is really nice.

Difference Between Windforce & Faith In Diablo 2

- Faith provides Fanaticism, Skills, Ignore Target's Defense, a massive 300% Bonus to Attack Rating, some Fire Damage, and some Resistance.  Windforce provides Maximum Damage increase, Mana Steal, Heal Stamina, Knockback, and some Strength and Dexterity mods.

- Advantages Faith has are more Enhanced Damage, more Attack Rating and Fanaticism has a faster attack speed bonus than Windforce. (Level 12 Fanaticism has 31% Increased Attack Speed). Advantages Windforce has are Knockback, Mana Steal, and Heal Stamina.

- Besides the price, Windforce has the higher damage per arrow. While pairing it with a faith rogue you also get the same attack speed. Windforce has more style because it was around longer - since Diablo 1 that is.

A point that probably warrants emphasis: it seems pretty popular to have a Faith-wielding mercenary when using Windforce, getting Fanaticism while retaining the advantages of Windforce.

Which To Choose, Windforce Or Faith? - When To Use

Assume using the physical bow skills (Multi, Strafe, Guided):

For PVP, take Faith any day due to the speed and 300% AR. In any dual against a Barb or Paladin, you will need all the AR you can get. Plus, given the fact that you shouldn't be using a merc in a duel, you won't have the option for getting Fanatacism from a Rogue, so Faith works best here for PVP.

Regarding PVM, take Faith too. When you factor in your damage while using a mercenary, its obvious that Desert Mercs will always best a Rogue merc. Couple that with hte fact that using Windforce on you and a Faith Rogue merc give you ONLY Fanaticism as an aura while you can enjoy Fanatacism, as well as Might with either Concentration from Pride or a bigger beat stick on an Act 2 merc and the contest winner, is pretty clear.

The only time to use a Windforce is if you had found one yourself and didn't have a good Faith yet.

The reason to enjoy Faith is:

Faith is faster, gives you better AR against bosses, and gives you and your merc MUCH better damage potential. Not to mention that stacking two or three auras as well as +2 skills makes for a MUCH stronger Valkyrie.

The reason to enjoy Windforce is:

- It is one of these mythics D2 items.

- The knockback is a great defensive trick on a bowazon.

- You don't need to find 1 great base + high level runes to get one, it just has to drop for you to roll a bowazon.
