We finally got the massive giant patch in Diablo 2 Resurrected. This is the first major patch Diablo 2 Resurrected has received in over a decade, including balance changes, new rune words, new cube recipes and more. There are new general balance changes, class-specific, and bug fixes in the D2R 2.4 Patch update. Today we are looking at some new Diablo 2 Resurrected Patch 2.4 balance changes in the PTR.
Diablo 2 Resurrected Patch 2.4 PTR Changes
The release date of the D2R 2.4 PTR update is February 3. This is the first time, Blizzard really come in and adjusted some of the balance of these things. We have seen them do a couple of bug fixes like the bosses needed to be fixed up, because they were taking way too way too little damage, etc. But now we actually have some slight balance changes in the Patch 2.4 Diablo 2. Now we are diving into the changes made recently in this Diablo 2 Resurrected Patch 2.4 PTR update.
War Cry
War Cry’s mana cost now only increases 0.75 per level instead of 1. Love this change, because War Cry’s mana cost gets so high when you're playing a sing barb and you're jamming all the points into it. It's 25/30 mana per shout and you run out of mana. You can't even keep up with it if you're holding spirit and you're jamming super mana potion. All of that, you'll still shout out faster than you can regen. It goes 40 plus and it's disgustingly high and for a barbarian. It also is really rough because you're going to put points in energy, then 1 mana per point in energy.
Shape-Shifting
The previous logic for shape-shifting attack speed has been restored. The new logic remains in place and whichever resulting calculation is faster is the one that will be used in an attack. That actually sounds worse, in terms of trying to figure out what is best though. This is going to be more confusing because there's another layer of complexity. It's going to choose whichever one is faster. Though auto pick the fastest, when you're trying to theory craft, you might have to pick which one you think is faster.
Raven
The number of hits of Raven reduced from 12 to 5, and no longer increases per level (restored to the original value). Reduce the damage gain for skill ranges 2-8, 9-16, and 17-22.
Holy Fire, Holy Freeze, Holy Shock & Sanctuary
Area Damage no longer scales based on the distance of the enemy to the caster. It will not deal a range from 100% damage to 200% based on the furthest distance to the closest distance to the caster. Damage level scaling increased to 70%. Resist Fire synergy increased 18% (Restored to the original value).
Hydra
You can now spawn multiple hydras on the controller when holding the button down. Both fire bolt synergy and Fire Ball synergy have been restored to 3%. So hydra is getting slightly nerfed again.
Gameplay Changes
Arrow and bolt max quantity increased to 500. Throwing weapon quantity has been increased by 50%. Javazon's just got buffed in the D2R Patch 2.4 update.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where Cloak of Shadows defense calculation was incorrect.
