Diablo 2 Resurrected Update 2.4.3 Patch Notes - Bug Fixes, Lobby Updates, PVP Changes & More
Lobby Updates
You might have noticed if you tried to join a public game in Diablo 2 Resurrected that sometimes your game list would be relatively short. Also your friends who are on different sides of the country or different parts of the world playing on the same server would not see the same games. In a nutshell, this is being addressed and you should see a lot more games populate on the list when you click join game in the lobby. It used to be the case that there would only be 20 games that popped up, but now there's going to be 40. So you get a lot more out of that refresh button from the lobby.
Additionally, they're doing a whole overlay for console players. They got a little game creator where you can create custom tags in the game to let people know what it's about, so that people who are searching for your game can easily find it. Something that's been long overdue for console players and their lobbies. They also get to see the ping of the game before they join it, this used to be a problem if somebody created a game from Australia and then you joined up on the north American server or European or Asia wherever you're at, you join the game all to realize that you're ping is astronomically high.
Search Feature
We finally have a search feature in the lobby for PC. You can search for duels, pvp, chaos act 1 whatever you want to do. This is a huge step in the right direction for community online play but also in-game trading.
Magic Find Week
Additionally, players should be ready for a magic find weekend from June 30th to July 4th, an intense rush of energy coursing through our veins will provide us with an extra 50% magic find. Players for those 5 days will have a 50 better chance of finding magic items in addition to all the other magic find that they already have. Something would be far better than this, you should get rid of that diminishing returns on magic find for an entire weekend.
Quality of Life Improvements
Gameplay updates:
Players can now start a new whirlwind leap or attack immediately after a whirlwind ends. The barb is getting a little bit of attention specifically with regard to the whirlwind skill in this patch update.
Changed the logic for determining how often Whirlwind attacks occur. Whirlwind attacks should be at least as fast as they were before. Slower weapons will attack notably faster.
Added a new "Loot to Cube" skill for controllers in the general skills menu. Using this skill on an item will pick it up and place it in your Horadric Cube, if there is space.
Added a bindable hotkey for mouse and keyboard to directly open the Horadric Cube if it is in your inventory.
Added a new button shortcut to open the Horadric Cube from the inventory menu.
Players can now bulk assign stat points using a controller.
A confirmation prompt will now appear when bulk assigning all remaining stat points on both PC and console. This option is unavailable while using legacy graphics.
Added an Automap Auto Open setting to allow players to set their preferred Automap position.
Online:
You can now double click on a game to join it in the PC lobby.
Players on Switch can now join a friend's game via the in-game Friends List.
Game List size has been doubled from 20 to 40.
Game list details in both the details panel and in the Game List now load faster upon selecting a game.
Friends playing D2R are now sorted to the top of the Friends List.
Console players now have an option in the options menu to toggle Game Name visibility.
PVP Tier List
Though the barb has been absolute in pvp for the longest time, a lot of people been asking for an updated tier list for pvp in the new patch.
- God Tier: Necromancer
- S Tier: Druid, ES Fire Sorceress, Barb
- A Tier: Assassin, Amazon
- D Tier: Paladin
Whirlwind Barb and PvP
There's a lot of other changes that are happening to whirlwind as well. They changed the logic for determining how often whirlwind attacks occur. Whirlwind now incorporates increased attack speed from all equipment, it used to be just the weapons that you were wearing. The frames between each whirlwind attack are equal to the attack frame of a basic attack for that character modified by increased attack speed. This could make whirlwind for the barbarian work a little bit better but the problem comes when you have whirl girls or assassins that have the chaos claw using whirlwind. That will make whirlwind for the assassin work even worse.
Overall, whirlwind attacks should be at least as fast as they were before, slower weapons will attack notably faster. They fixed an issue where short distance whirlwinds could end without executing a single attack, all it took was months of passive aggressive and esoteric bitching and this has finally been fixed. A lot of times newer players to barbs would understand that you would have to do triangular pattern whirlwinds when you're trying to hit one of your targets most efficiently, but what higher level pvp players knew is that short whirlwinds were really the way to go. This is where you activate whirlwind right at your character's feet, it does an extremely short whirlwind and gets a first hit or a couple of hits in at a very short distance allowing your character to recover from the animation very quickly and commence some ensuing attacks. The lack of this was one of the big things that single-handedly shut the barb down in pvp competition, it was what made them pretty devastating in lod and a lot of players are going to be happy to see this corrected.
Horadric Cube
They added a bindable hotkey for mouse and keyboard to directly open the horadric cube if it's in your inventory. You didn't know what cube was, it was when you have your cta in your horadric cube which is in your inventory allowing you a more diversified set of weapons that you can use in the battlefield, without having to bad manner somebody and go pre-buff at the stash.
Mercenaries
They fixed an issue where resurrect costs were inconsistent for high-level mercenaries.
It's pretty sweet to pay 11 grand to resurrect some high-level mercenaries, others cost over the maximum cap of 50k, some people with those preferred mercenaries are probably happy to see this fixed.
Vendor Glitch
Under stability and performance, they fixed a performance issue that could occur when spamming refresh at a vendor for an extended period.
Miscellaneous crash and stability fixes.
