If you are looking for a D2R Ladder Season 2 starter build, let’s go over the Diablo 2 Resurrected Whirlwind Barb build from Poolnoodlex, with early and mid-to-late version gear options, as well as a breakdown of stats, skills and mercenary. This build can help clear pretty much anything in D2R Ladder Season 2 at a moderate pace, even though lacking a little bit of density compared to others.
Stats
As usual, we have enough strength and dexterity to wear all of the gear, then the rest into vitality.

Skills
Moving on to the skill part, put 20 points into Spear Mastery and a point into the rest of the passives, 20 into Whirlwind, 20 into Berserk to deal with any of the physical immunes, and 20 into Battle Orders for the big bonus to life and mana, then for the rest, you can do whatever you want to do.

Starting with the early weapon, you can use Obedience or Unbending Will. For other Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder items, we have some little magic finders for gloves, a couple of random rings, and a four-slot belt, as well as some boots with magic find, run speed, or resistance on them. Then either a Lore helm or a crafted blood helm, this setup should be enough to get you started in some level 85 areas.

Mid-to-Late Game Gear
For the mid-to-late weapon, you can go with the two-hand version and use a Breath of the Dying in a War Pike, but there is the option of using two one-handers like Grief. Now that they have changed the way that works, the gloves we have Laying of Hands for the increased attack speed, fire resistance, and damage to demons. A dual leech ring and a Raven Frost for the Cannot Be Frozen, String of Ears for the life leech and the damage reduction, Gore Rider is for all the physical enhancements, and Fortitude for the huge enhanced damage and the high resistances, Highlord’s for the attack speed, deadly strike, and lightning resistance. Then Arreat’s Face due to how overpowered it is for all physical barbs. Finally, for the charms, this build only uses a few variants of max damager and lifers, some of these can be upgraded with sockets.
