In this article, we will deal with a simple question “how much experience do the Ancients on normal nightmare and he'll give us if we don't complete the quest until level 98. Before anyone asks, skipping the ancients can be done by completing the ball quest on normal and nightmare via party and deciding not to go into the worldstone keep until level 98. Now get straight into this guide covering everything you need to know to complete Rite of Passage quest in Diablo 2 Resurrected.
D2R Ancient Quest Level 98 - How To Defeat Rite of Passage Quest in Diablo2 Resurrected
Rite of Passage Rewards
The quest Rite of Passage in which you have to defeat the three ancients on the Ariat Summit gives a fixed value of experience point on each difficulty, regardless of the character level. On normal, the Ancients give 1.4 million XP, on nightmare 20 million and on health 40.
Normal: 1,400,000 XP
Nightmare: 20,000,000 XP
Hell: 40,000,000 XP
How Many Baal Runs?
If you consider that you don't even get 100,000 experience per baal run at level 98. Even in the full game, this can save you a lot of runs.
Terrorized Area Farmtrick
Even in times of Terror zones or especially there, this is very practical. High characters level up much better in Terror zones anyway, so that the trick isn't that valuable anymore, but it's also not so hard to live without bail run since there are Terror zones now.
D2R Level 98 Ancient Quests on All Difficulties
To show you how the experience bar grows, here’s the level 98 char in single-player mode and the completed ancient quests on all difficulties:
Ancient Normal: On normal, the 1.4 million XP are hardly visible but at least you can see that something happened.
Ancient Nightmare: On nightmare on the other hand, you can see a bigger jump with the 20 million XP. From this, we can expect that the increase on hell will be twice as big. That brings us to the end yet.
Ancient Hell: On hell, the 40 million XP are available to get.
How To Activate Diablo 2 Rite of Passage
In order to complete your Rite of Passage ancient level 98 quest, you’ll need to have fought through the hordes and into the Lord of Destruction DLC. Act V is the starting point for this. Following the completion of the Betrayal of Harrogath, players can then set the Rite of Passage mission in action, but there are two different ways to activate it:
Go to Harrogath and speak to Qual-Kehk (the Mercenary captain.)
Head to The Ancient’s Way to start the quest automatically. This is located past the Frozen Tundra.
The second choice, once you reach The Ancient's Way, is likely the simpler one, as all you have to do is keep going along it until you reach the Arreat Summit. This is where your battle will begin once you interact with the Altar of the Heaven.
