Diablo 2 Resurrected Runes Tier List - What is the Best & Rarest Rune in Diablo 2

Thanks to Seer, all the runes are divided into five different tiers, the S tier includes the best runes in Diablo 2 Resurrected, and the D tier is the least useful. But the best Diablo 2 Resurrected rune does not mean it’s the rarest.

S tier: Ber, Jah, Zod, Mal, Lo, Ort, Tal

- Ber rune: it's literally the best rune in the entire game, it's absolutely incredible and used in many of the best runewords in Diablo 2.

- Jah rune: one of the most valuable high runes, being one percent less good compared to Ber.

- Zod rune: it's the rarest rune and the second rarest D2R item in the game, can be used for making items indestructible and in the Breath of the Dying runeword.

- Mal rune: a chad one, hits all the good marks, always fun to find, included in many good D2R runewords.

- Lo rune: a high rune and rank at the top of the line, can be used in Fortitude and Grief.

- Ort rune: Ort is not only one of the very best low-level runes, but it's also used in so many things, it is always used for something or other or even just to recharge equipment, put that in your pipe and cube it, it's got one of the easiest to remember rune designs.

- Tal rune: used in so many good runewords and it's a staple, put this into anything.

A tier: Pul, Ist, Um, Amn, Ohm, Vex, Ral

- Pul rune: it's one of the most solid high runes in the game, maybe not using a ton of high-end runewords itself, but it's so flexible, it is also the beginning of the double rune cube requirement instead of three.

- Ist rune: such a pleasure to find, firstly a lot of the characters are going to want it, secondly it's good to cube up if you need it since it's pretty close to some high runes, it's a magic find.

- Um rune: it's a really good mid-tier pick, can turn into Mal, giving it A tier.

- Amn rune: it's an incredibly good rune, not too rare and deserving of a place on A tier.

- Ohm rune: so good, it represents not going to die badly, it's rare so everyone wants one.

- Vex rune: the least rare high rune, Heart of the Oak puts this one up, it has all the right energy, going into A here.

- Ral rune: goes into the bottom of A since it's good for repairing armor as well as making caster amulets.

B tier: Shael, Lem, Dol, Eth, Fal, Tir, Gul, Ko, Thul, Sur

- Shael rune: top of b, it's got a really useful baseline ability, it's used in mediocre assortments of popular runewords.

- Lem rune: it's a good mid rune, Lem is used to upgrading items to higher variations.

- Dol rune: not that good included in some really good runewords.

- Eth rune: it's used in a lot of good things, it's always tripping up people who make Enigma, it's just got some good energy and it's pretty much the first rune that people really start seeking out when they make a new character.

- Fal rune: used in little, but it's pretty close to a lot of other runes, so that's good rare enough to be happy with the drop.

- Tir rune: the third lowest one in the game, it's a decided B tier though for its really good early game function of giving you mana for kills, this is actually so liberating, and compared to most of the other runes, it is worth putting into gear.

- Gul rune: it's pretty worthless for everything, it's just a good middle group rune.

- Ko rune: a low-mid rune, part of the Heart of the Oak, can upgrade unique armor to elite.

- Thul rune: a b tier rune, used in the Spirit runeword, and Horadric Cube recipes.

- Sur rune: it's a middle-of-the-road rune, but it's much closer to the very good ones.

C tier: Sol, Cham, El, Lum

- Sol rune: not high enough to be mid, not low enough to be ignored, it's in some good runewords, it’s a top of C tier.

- Cham rune: the second rarest rune in the game, it's not altogether useful to use itself, and it barely has any runeworld useful, it's a very high rune trading and remains valuable for their Cannot Be Frozen property.

- El rune: the literal lowest one in the entire game, used for little completely irrelevant to everything that matters, it gets the obligatory C here, because this is the lowest rune in the game.

- Lum rune: it to be exceptionally boring once upon a time fun to find, not so good, it's a mid-tier rune, but that can't save it, it's the bottom of C tier.

D tier: Io, Eld, Ith, Hel, Nef

- Io rune: it has little use and is too low to reasonably build into anything you'd want, since it's the lowest mid rune of the game.

- Eld rune: the second worst one in the game and is used for so little, even though there are still some good runewords.

- Ith rune: never really good for anything practical and always reminds you that you only have one-third of an Enigma, for this reason, it's going in D tier.

- Hel rune: too low to build into good runes, not useful on its own.

- Nef rune: the bottom of D tier.
