A new Elden Ring build guide for patch 1.08, reapers here are finally back on the menu in Elden ring both in PVP and PVE as well as best Elden Ring runes & items, just take a look at this casual 32,000 damage combo, that's an absolutely insane burst and DPS potential, that is possible with a build that we'll show you today.
Elden Ring 1.08 Keen Grave Scythe & Spinning Strikes Build
If you're unaware in patch 1.08, reapers were specifically buffed to have faster attacks and reduced recovery time on those which has made a big impact on their potential, spinning strikes though our Ash of choice for this build was improved in 1.07, also with better recovery, but importantly, its attack power was improved as you can see, combining that Ash with our improved Reapers then and a quick blood flame buff, that's what's leading to this insane DPS of the build, and if used right, it's silly strong.
1.08 Keen Grave Scythe & Spinning Strikes Build in PVP
We'll start with PVP, in PvP, then we found the base range of reapers shockingly good, people just don't seem to expect it, it's much like the range of say a spear, meaning your basic attacks the ash or the running attacks especially they land on people when they're not ready for it they're not expecting it to reach the running lie or heavy attacks are insanely good then for catching Runners rollers or even starting a combo leading into a nice trade thanks to that, and overall we feel the move set is much improved, both in speed of various attacks for catching and trading, but the recovery most of all allowing us to avoid damage, but most importantly, combo into other attacks for trading purposes and a bit of Mind Game say some Basics into an ash running attacks into a sudden slow heavy, the recovery improvements to various weapon types in 1.08, we believe is a bit of an unsung hero, we think it makes a major difference in what's actually possible with combinations, and that really matters in PvP where it carries many weapons into relevance most of all, now to focus on the ash of war, the spinning strikes has three parts to it, you can hold it down to channel a constant spinning attack around yourself while moving a bit slowly forward in a direction that allows for multi-trading and PVP when someone isn't expecting it or better, doesn't understand the ash at all because it is quite rare to see this, but it can be ended instantly orally as you want by interrupting it with say a light attack will spin around and slam at an impressive range or you can end it with a heavy which will have you Leap Forward and stamp down a bit slower but for more damage, since we're more interested in multiple hits because of bleed and successive attacks, the light attack version is usually what we use for trading, since it comes out quicker and that's important, but you can use the heavy for more damage obviously ,and a bit of a Chase since it's a gap closer, the real powerhouse though is landing multiple hits of that channeled attack, the blade build up will obviously Skyrocket, you can get one or maybe two bleed procs consistently, killing most anyone with the damage of the weapon on top, far from easy to do in reality, but possible with the right timing in Mind Games such as the guy who didn't seem to think we would reach him with the attacks or someone who's rolling in panic are round you at close range, that's the ultimate punish for that and the DPS is insane given that chance, generally, we've been impressed with the damage of the weapon itself combined with the bleed and the fire even though we have no Arcane really to scale bleed blood flame just carries it seems to be about three hits per bleed pop in my experience in PvP which is very good for a two-hand weapon like this match that with the range and better speed of attacks and recovery, it all worked really well, so the Buffs of 1.08 for Reapers has made a real difference when combined with something strong like blood flame blade, something we really recommend you try, because Reapers aren't that popular and yet seem to be pretty damn strong in the right build.
1.08 Keen Grave Scythe & Spinning Strikes Build in PVE
But how will this perform in PVE where mind games and range aren't really a thing, well relying on just the ash, and in fact just the channel spinning strike aspect of it it's hilariously strong, look at that if you just stand there channeling the ash spinning the strike after strike, the damage is going to be amazing straight up 11, 000 plus damage on the first boss in New Game Plus before we even got going, but what if we could get going we'll take a look at Margaret, after he falls he has a sort of hitbox for a long period and that allows you to actually see what kind of DPS is possible, given the chance to keep going, and here we have an insane 32, 000 damage combo, it's high burst because each hit was going to deal good damage anyway, but then you've got the bleed pops going off at the same time, but then we have mega High DPS because this is a successive blow build, meaning the more attacks we land in a short time, the higher our AR will shoot up and up and up, not to forget, after the first bleed proc our AR will actually jump up as well thanks for a Talisman and white mask, so essentially as long as you can learn two or three hits quickly, the AR is going to Skyrocket, then any further attacks after that, that's going to be insanely strong naturally this works in perfect Unison with spinning strikes which is why it's the pick for the build, and if you can run up and channel the ash, you will just watch as your damage breaks apart whatever enemy you're hitting boss or otherwise, the downside is if the enemy isn't going to stagger or be interrupted by something as part of the fight, you might get interrupted yourself, so you're looking for longer punishment Windows to get this off, relying on the basics of the weapon in that shorter punished window, then it's going to be good the standing combo is faster in this patch don't forget, so one to two hits of a light combo in a small punished window will actually do really well or you can rely on the Ash of Wars light finish or heavy finish to deal more damage in a short window, the thing we just need to think about then is getting the most out of punish windows and looking for those longer ones and going hard whenever we can with a full channel, like in that godrick fight, we had a bit of a hard time finding that true window for punish but with some patience we're able to find it and then do a 100-0 kill in one Ash of War channel, so we think it's fair to say this is silly effective in PVE, a very simple and effective playstyle after you've buffed up with everything you have the sea Reapers perform this well in PVE as well, it's wonderful, we think this is yet another poorly performing weapon type, that's been made much better with a few important improvements.
