In Diablo 4, legendary items hold great significance as they offer unique bonuses to specific skills or attributes through their legendary affixes. While some legendary items enhance mobility or resource management, others can significantly impact playstyle through their offensive skill bonuses. As such, it may be advantageous to reallocate skill points when obtaining certain legendary items, particularly during leveling. Additionally, certain legendary items are exclusive to certain classes, with their designs tailored to complement their respective class themes, although some are versatile enough to be used by any class. A comprehensive guide on how to farm, craft, and roll the best legendaries in Diablo 4 is provided here for your overview.

Step 1 - Farming for Legendary Codex & Aspects
So the first thing is you want to be farming for your legendary codexs and also aspects, those are very different:
1) Codexs Drops From Dungeons (Min Roll Affix Only)
You can obtain Codex by opening up the dungeons and defeating the dungeon for the first time.
2) Aspects Gained From Extracting a Legendary Item Currently Owned
Aspects are actually the legendary that is extracted, so let's say if you wanted this legendary effect for the berserking effect you inflict bleeding damage, so if you extract this aspect from the legendary, the stats of the row of 34% were stake and those rolls are always higher than what you get from the dungeons - the dungeons will give you a minimum roll while the Diablo IV items you extract from the legendary items will give you a random rope that is usually not minimum, you can also draw a very high roll. Now because of the affix effects from the Dungeons and the minimal rolls, we don't craft freeze those codexs unless we really have to. So we recommend crafting from legendary items instead of codexes, so it is always better if we're crafting we want to use the aspect instead of the Codex and this is the first highlight. You have two options if you put a golden one hanging you have an option of using the Codex or you also have the option to use the aspect. Now do keep in mind an item that is extracted from a legendary aspect, this aspect can only be used once, you cannot use this to craft a legendary and then extract this again.
3) Best Way To Get Legendary Items: Dungeon Grind, World Boss, Gambling
So what you really want to do is you want to find a lot of legendary items because they give you better rolls of the codexs and also they give you better effects, so you want to be farming Dungeons and also killing World bosses. What's more, gambling is one of the best and fast methods of finding legendaries and codexs.
Step 2 - Keep Rare Gears For Crafting (At Level 25/50, Early & End Game)
After knowing the Codex and aspects, what you want to do is to start farming for rare items. What we mean rare items is going to be the golden items over here, so you can see the gold item. What you're looking for is you're looking for a weapon with sockets and also with three good effects:
1) For Early Game: Look for Item Level 320+, Best To Have 340 iLvl
Now finding rare items and also keeping them is going to be very important throughout the game. During the early game at level 25, you'll be looking for a level item level over 320.
2) Look For Good Affix & Potential To Reroll
At the end game, you probably look for some other item level. Once you have at level 320 eventually, you can craft them into item level 340, and those items seem to be in a better stats to roll.
3) Always Enchant Our Rare Items (Reroll Affix) Before Crafting Into Legendary
The next thing is once you look for good effects and also good potential rolls and also a weapon with a socket, what you also want to do is consider enchanting your red item before crafting this into legendary. Let's say we are crafting an item with the Codex, before we click this button - Imprint Aspect, make sure to consider enchanting. Because once we click "Imprint Aspect", you will be converted into legendary and then if you still want to come back to enchant an item like rerolling for one of these substances, you cannot do it cheaply. So this is the cost of a legendary re-roll, and it's going to cost a Fiend Rose and those are many rare items. What you want to do with enchanting is to reroll your rare item first because this only costs a basic Veiled Crystals. So once you reroll the stats, then you craft this item into legendary, so this way you don't have to re-roll when it becomes legendary, this is much cheaper.
4) 2H Weapon Can Have Up To 2 Sockets
Finally while looking for your golden rare items, you also want to look for two sockets on the two-handed weapon. So if you're looking for a rare item - a one-handed weapon only have one socket and the two-handed weapon can have up to two sockets for the two-handed weapon even when it's a rare item. Keep in mind if you're looking for the best in slot items you want to Min and Max for the best item in the game.
Step 3 - Know the Difference of Each Codex Categories (What Can Be Crafted On What)
The next thing is what codecs do you apply to what weapon, and what are the categories of codexs. Codexs are usually separated into five categories: defensive, offensive, resource, utility, and mobility, what you want to notice is some of those item sensor gears have a special item requirement that you can apply the codexs or the aspects:
Offensive: Gloves, 1H Weapon, 2H Weapon (+100% Effectiveness), Ring, Amulet (+50% Effectiveness)
Defensive: Helm, Chest, Pants, Amulet (+50% Effectiveness)
Resource: Helm, Ring, Amulet (+50% Effectiveness)
Utility: Helm, Chest, Boots, Gloves, Amulet (+50% Effectiveness)
Mobility: Boots, Amulet (+50% Effectiveness)
For defensive items, it's all the armor pieces and also Hamlet. For the offensive pieces, you can apply those on the gloves and weapons especially two-handed weapons which will have double effectiveness. So what that means is this particular weapon with a codex of 200%, if this was a one-handed weapon this will only be 100% effect, and if this was on gloves this will also be 100% effective instead of 200% effective, so this is a very important part and this is how we craft the best in slot offensive aspects and codexs onto the best weapons.
Right away you can see the Amulet is actually a universal item that is in the game that can go on to almost all the codexs and this also provides additional 50% Effectiveness, so this is the second-best thing compared to the two-handed weapon.
Step 4 - Look At Bonus To Codex Affix On 2H Weapon & Amulets
Now let's talk about the bonus, effectiveness of the Codex Affix, and also in legendary aspects:
1) 100% More Affix Effect on Two-Hand Weapon & 50% More On Amulets
You really want to look for the best in slot two-handed weapons and also amulets because those provide 100% and 50% Effectiveness. For example, we have the gloves - Needleflare Boneweave Gauntlets, the rolls of the legendary aspects are actually good with 28% effectiveness of AOE Thorn damage, and what we are going do is extract this one, and once we extract it we'll be crafting this onto the two-handed weapon we prepared for the highest double defectiveness. And of course, before we craft the weapon, we are actually going to reroll on the weapon stats, here we have multiple choices - you can keep the current stats or you can keep the new ones you roll into. Now the weapon is ready to be crafted into a legendary, so let us extract the aspects from the gloves and we'll be putting that onto the weapon, and this is ideally the best way to craft the best in slot weapons for your build.
2) These Slots are Reserved For Our BIS Offense Codex Effects: 2H Weapon > Amulets > Rings & Gloves
While picking weapons to craft, we also want to notice to you about the weapon bonus choices. Once we have crafted our best slot weapons in the game by wearing these two of them rather than two-hand weapon, you look into the one-handed weapon for the offensive craftings. After this, you can look into your rings and armor pieces. Do keep in mind you can also craft offensive codexs onto your gloves, this is quite important because usually, we go with our offense first. Also, you can add resource and utility codexs, but get to know the difference between what codexs you have belongs to what category come over to the tree and look for the ones you have.
Step 5 - Legendary Affix Effect Does Not Stack
You want to look into the best in slot offensive weapons for any of the classes for a two-handed build because these give 100% Effectiveness and ideally this should be the core of your build. Similarly, you can do the same method for amulets because amulets also provide a 50% bonus, so this will be the second best in slot for you to craft your codexs.
Codex From Dungeons is always the Last Resort
Double Check Codes Type Before Extracting/Crafting
We Can Not Extrat Again From Crafted Legendary of Its Aspect
Make sure you double-check because once the Codex over here is crafted onto this weapon, you cannot extract this weapon to do it again. Make sure you pick which one to craft after the weapons for the most benefits, but your amulets and also your two-handed weapons should always be crafting offensives.
Step 6 - Further Upgrades
Now in order to help you to make the best slot weapon for any of the classes, we talk about rerolling your rare item stats, the enchantment at the Oculus. So you want to reroll your golden items over here, we'll just give you a quick summary once you re-roll those and once you craft that into legendaries.
1) Look Into Upgrading Rings + Amulets and Socketing At Jeweler After Crafting
Jeweler: Kratia will upgrade your existing accessories (rings and amulets) and this can give you bonus stats, increase the item level, and this will be the final perk to upgrade your perfect items whether it's in the early game or in the endgame. Something we do also want to mention at the Jeweler is that you can add sockets to your existing items.
2) Upgrade (Up to 4 times) Weapons at Blacksmith
Blacksmith: Zivek will upgrade your armor and weapons over here, so make sure you also finish this off this is because you get a demo bonus and also more Effectiveness. This will be the final step into upgrading the best in slot gears.
3) Top Tier Legendary for Extra Affix Crafting
Legendary comes with 4 affix is ideal for better crafting over rare, but the downside is that we can re-roll freely like rares, and the enchantment costs (mats) is higher.
