Mystery chests, aka Tortured Gift of Mysteries, are the most profitable loot in Diablo IV Helltide Events as they drop slot-specific Legendary items for virtually all builds, but they are not marked on the map. Follow the guide to discover where and when to find them!

What is the Helltide Mystery Chest (Tortured Gift of Mysteries) in Diablo 4?

Many players have already arrived at the endgame and are diligently participating in the Helltide event. This takes place every two hours for one hour. Indeed, this makes it possible to obtain Rose-de-fiel, forgotten Souls, and sacred legendary items, then ancestral in quantity. But this is only the surface, and even more profitable special chests are in the area. Doing the Helltide event, we can collect Aberrant Cinders, which can be used to open Mystery Chests (Tortured Gift) for valuable rewards, that's very profitable.

Unlike "normal" chests whose opening price ranges from 75 to 150 Aberrant cinders, Tortured Gift of Mysteries comes in different versions, and has an opening price of 175 cinders, making them the most expensive but the most profitable chests to loot.

Tortured Gift Chests available in Helltide:

Tortured Gift of Protection (Boots, Chest, Helm, Gloves, Pants; Requires 75 cinders)

Tortured Gift of Jewelry (Requires 125 cinders)

Tortured Gift of Weaponry (Requires 150 cinders)

Tortured Gift of Mysteries (Requires 175 cinders)

Features of the Tortured Gift of Mysteries:

Tortured chests guarantee items of a certain slot type, Tortured Weapons chests always drop weapons, Tortured Amulet chests will always drop an amulet, etc.

175 - Tortured gifts are not marked on the map.

There is only one 175 - Tortured Gift of Mystery in the whole area. Once opened, it disappears and reappears in a different location.

When playing in a group, all players must stand in front of this chest when redeeming it.

How & Where the Helltide Tortured Gift of Mystery Chest Spawn?

Tortured Gift of Mystery Chests spawn in Fractured Peaks, Scosglen, Dry Steppes, Kehjistan, and Hawezar during Helltide happening in any of the five regions.
It would be a little too easy if you could just go and find all these chests during each Wave of Helltide. As said above, they are not displayed on the map, but that does not mean that they do not have a single fixed position. A map with the different possible positions in each region affected by a Helltide wave can be found further down in this article. The only solution is to go and inspect every possible spawn location.
There is one Mystery Chest per area covered by the Helltide. This means that there are always 2 chests, except for Kehjistan, which has 3, since the wave is wider, and it covers 3 areas.
What complicates things is that these chests change position every hour (on the hour, for example, at 8:00 p.m.). It is nevertheless a hidden blessing if you are effective since the mystery chests already opened, see their contents restored. This will vary depending on when the wave appears, but it is theoretically possible to open 4 to 6 chests during a single event, if efficient.
It is nevertheless influenced by the start time of the wave, if it starts at exactly one hour, they will not be regenerated before the end. And if it starts soon after, you won't necessarily have time to find them all again.
