Diablo 4 Leveling Tier List - Best Class & Builds for Fastest 1-50 Leveling
As Season 2 of Diablo 4 gets underway, many veteran adventurers will be racing to max level their newest seasonal characters. And for those seeking the most efficient means of power leveling, certain classes and builds have established themselves as top contenders based on Season 1 experiences. At the front of the pack stands the Necromancer, whose Corpselance build leverages the class' signature minions and bone spears to blitz through waypoints like no other. With its innate survival tools and brutal area of effect damage, the Corpselance Necro excels at swarming packs of demons and clearing massive pulls of enemies with little risk of death. Motivated levelers aiming to be among the first to hit cap this season would be wise to raise the dead with this build, as no other class or gameplay style comes close to matching its lightning pace of mass slaughter and experience gains.
1. Sorcerer (S Tier): Firewall Sorc
Sorcs are known for their powerful abilities, but it's important to ensure proper balance in the game. While they can be engaging to play and offer advantages in terms of tankiness, clearing speed, and enjoyment, it's crucial to consider the overall game balance and the strengths of other classes like Barb, Druid, Necro, and Rogue.
D4 Best Sorcerer Build For Leveling in Season 2: Firewall Sorc & Chaining Lightning Sorc
For leveling, Sorcerers destroy, you have a couple of godly options, you can level with Firewall which destroys everything or you can level with Chain Lightning which is also incredible, there are other builds that work very well.
2. Rogue (A Tier): Twisting Blades Rogue
If you've played Rogue before, you're aware of their impressive potential, which has been further enhanced by changes to Paragon notes, passives, and the pool of unique items they can access. Every build was already viable, but now they have become the meta. If you enjoy fast-paced gameplay or have attention deficit disorder, playing Rogue will bring you joy. You can look forward to exhilarating Rain of Arrows spamming and impressive Shadow clone montages clearing entire nightmare dungeons in just one minute.
D4 Best Rogue Build For Leveling in Season 2: Twisting Blades Rogue
Twisting Blades is considered one of the best builds for leveling as a Rogue, but other Rogue builds also perform well. Rogues excel in speed and mobility, thanks to abilities like Double Dash that allow them to move with lightning-fast speed. Additionally, they possess impressive area-of-effect clearing capabilities. Twisting Blades, in particular, received a buff and its poison damage with bursting Venoms remains strong. The changes in the game's math have also indirectly improved damage over time effects. As a result, Twisting Blades has emerged as a standout build, being one of the best options in the game.
3. Necromancers (A Tier): Blood Surge Necro
The Summoner archetype appears to be gaining prominence in the way the game is evolving. However, there is a concern that the AI for summons and companions may not meet the high standards demanded by modern ARPGs. Only time will tell how this plays out. It's expected that skills like Blood Surge and Blood Lance will become staple abilities in future seasons. These skills provide opportunities for players to explore the overpower mechanics present in the game.
D4 Best Druid Build For Necromancer in Season 2: Blood Surge Necro
For leveling, Necromancers are widely regarded as the best due to their skill called Blood Surge. By activating Blood Surge, Necromancers can deal significant damage and clear entire rooms effortlessly. This skill remains highly effective throughout a good portion of the game, at least until level 50 and possibly beyond. However, after level 50, its effectiveness may diminish, and Necromancers may need to explore other options. While Necromancers are known for their lack of movement speed, they do have access to a few legendary powers that can enhance their mobility. It's worth noting that other classes also have similar powers and, in many cases, even better ones.
4. Druid (B Tier): Tornado Druid
In the early game, Druids can improve their performance by combining synergistic aspects. While they are considered a powerful class, their skills and best builds may not have received the same level of attention as the frontal three classes. As a result, Druids are often ranked fourth. However, if you choose to play as a Druid, rest assured that you will not be at a significant disadvantage compared to the top three classes. If any gap exists, it is minimal.
D4 Best Druid Build For Leveling in Season 2: Tornado Druid
For leveling, it seems that Druids may face challenges in finding a build that feels good. One potential build that could provide a satisfying experience is the Tornado build, but unfortunately, acquiring the power to make Tornado seek enemies is not readily available by default. The Pulverize power from the previous season, which offered a Shockwave hitting the whole room, appears to have been cycled out and is no longer in the Codex power. In the current season, Druids can obtain a new multiplicative damage power by hitting 15 enemies with a Werebear skill, although it may not be as impactful as the previous Shockwave power.
5. Barbarians (C Tier): Upheaval Barb
Barbarians are currently ranked last because they are considered the least convenient class to play. The nightmare dungeon teleportation mechanic has highlighted the importance of quality of life and convenience in gameplay, and Barbarians may lack in both aspects. Their skills may not offer the desired functionality and ease of use. Additionally, with armor being easier to stack for all classes and no longer reducing Elemental damage, the traditional identity of Barbarians as tanks seems to have been diminished. It is possible that they are in need of a rework to better align with the current state of the game.
D4 Best Sorcerer Build For Leveling in Season 2: Upheaval Barb & HotA Barb
Two of the best Barbarian builds for leveling are Upheaval and HotA. Upheaval deals high damage early on, hitting a large area on the screen, and it has been buffed, which is good news. HotA (Hammer of the Ancients) was also a strong choice, and they have made changes to the shockwave power, aiming to make it similar to its previous effectiveness.
