D2R Ladder Start Date & Character | When Will Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Start
2/8/2022 4:26:38 PM

The latest news about Diablo 2 Resurrected is that PTR will come offline on February 9, does this mean the new Ladder is really coming? Based on the leaks from forums and Reddit, we can have an estimated time of the D2R Ladder release date, along with the returning PTR. In addition, starting Ladder with Sorceress is a popular option because of its great benefits.

Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Start Date 2022 - D2R Ladder PTR Release

When will D2R Ladder start? According to the post from Blizzard official forum and Diablo community on Reddit, they will take the Diablo 2 Resurrected 2.4 PTR down on February 9, 2022, at 10:30 AM PT, then bring PTR back up for Ladder testing probably the week after (February 16), and last another two weeks like current PTR, so that probably February 16 to March 2, it’s more likely that they will put Patch 2.4 live release along with Ladder season 1 starting the week of March 7-11 or March 14-18.

Additional balance changes can be expected to occur during this ladder PTR update as well. This will most likely be the last PTR phase before launch, but there will most likely be final balance changes that will hit with 2.4 when it goes live. We also expect new D2R Ladder items and runewords.

Updated:

The Ladder season for testing is confirmed to start on March 2, 2022, along with the launch of D2R Patch 2.4 PTR.

Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Start Character - Is Sorceress a Good Starting Class for D2R New Ladder

Even though the first Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder season is still not released, the majority of players will tell you to start with a Sorceress class. Is Sorceress a good starting class for D2R Ladder and why? Phoeaterz explained the reasons as below.

If you choose any other class, they will experience different leveling struggles. For Necromancer, there are skeletons in the Maggot Lair, for Druid, struggles in the Arcane Sanctuary, and Hammerdin in the Maggot Lair, a War Cry Barbarian, the shot doesn't kill them, for the Amazon, it is important to be very careful with this character that she can be extremely fragile and does not have great skills for crowd control or escaping danger, for the Assassin, the Burst of Speed is pretty good but not as good as teleport, now the Assassin isn't the only class that has this disadvantage, all of them do, there's no teleport.

There are generally two types of players, type one is where you play a Sorceress enough to farm a Diablo 2 resurrected ladder runeword Enigma and then you play the class that you actually want to play. Type 2 is to play a Sorceress enough to farm an Infinity and continue to play as a Sorceress. A number of D2R builds for the other classes use Enigma and Infinity as gear. The Sorceress is the best class to farm the wealth necessary for an Enigma, she has the teleport. This whole time teleportation is really good because it lets you ignore all the challenges put in front of you, you have a wall teleport, you can teleport to skip all these mobs, to travel fast, and to put a skill into the teleport. You want to minimize the time, you spend traveling to the designated spot and maximize the time killing the monsters, this is why the Sorceress is the most popular class when starting teleport.
