WoW 19th Anniversary Celebration Guide 2023 - Mounts, Rewards, Easy Ilvl 441 Gear, Dream Wardens Rep Renown
The first thing you're going to want to do is pop by your nearest Mail Box. You should have a nicely wrapped neat little package from the dev team, open that up and you'll find 200 time wed badges, the little frostwing pet, a celebration firework, an invitation to the time walkers and the celebration package. So we've already got the special event only pet, that's all you have to do, as long as you log in and loot your mailbox you're good to go. And then we've got the big rep experience gains buff two which for this year has been bumped up to 19%. This bonus will last for the duration of the entire event, so be sure you use your celebration package before heading out to do any content on any of your characters.
The reputation bonus also doesn't seem to have any restrictions placed on it which means it will work for our newest renown and reputation grind, the dream wardens. An extra 19% reputation is going to be huge for quickly working towards renown 20 to get all of the various rewards on offer, including the infinite augment rune at renown 18. If you didn't know, you can also get item level 441 gear at renown level 7 and item level 454 gear at Renown level 14, so there are also some gearing options available from the Renown vendor as well. Make sure you're completing all of the weekly activities that reward you with big chunks of reputation, and if you saved up your rep tokens from your story quest progression, now is a great time to use those as well.
There are also a lot of side quests available in the emerald Dream Zone that reward you with a lot of reputation. So if you're going to get those done at some point in the near future, try to get them all out of the way while you have this rep buff in play. We probably will not see another reputation gain bonus this large until at least the end of the Dragonflight expansion, so you definitely want to take advantage of it. The same goes for any other renowned faction in Dragonflight or any older reputation you've been wanting to farm.
Special Event Mounts
It's not just easy rep gains to take advantage of during the event, there's also a special mount to pick up and some new gearing opportunities as well. Right outside of the Caverns of Time Tanaris you can find the Doom Walker World boss, if you kill the Doom Walker during the event, you'll get the special event mount the Azure WorldChiller. This is a recolor of a previous anniversary Mount but it looks really cool in blue as well. This Mount has a 100% chance to drop, so you only have to kill the Doom Walker once during the event to add this mount tier collection.
Quick & Easy Ilvl 441 Gear - How to Get 441+ Ilvl Gear in 10.2 WoW
The Doom Walker will also have a chance to reward you with item level 441 gear which is pretty good that's on par with the weekly quests in the emerald Dream Zone. There is also a quest you can pick up from Chromie down in the caverns called Doomwalkin Has Come Knockin, this quest should be weekly and rewards you with timewarped badges to spend as you wish. So if you're working towards some timewarped mounts or just want more badges to spend on event goodies, be sure to pick up this quest before you kill Doomwalker for the week.
This isn't the only World boss returning during the event, you can pick up another quest called The Originals. This quest asks you to hunt down Lord Kazzak in the Blasted Lands as you ghost over in Azuregos, as well as one of the emerald dream dragons scattered across the world. All of these bosses also have a chance to drop item level 441 gear and you should be able to kill these bosses both the Doomwalker and the other world bosses every day for a chance at loot.
So you have even more chances to get item level 441 gear which can be upgraded all the way to item level 463, so it's going to be a great source of easy gear for any player who relies on the Outdoor World or solo content especially.
Even if you aren't interested in the gear that drops for the item level, a lot of these bosses also have unique transmog options that cannot be found anywhere else. So if you love that old vanilla vibe, you might find some cool items to chase after.
Korraks Revenge Battleground Returns
The anniversary event also brings back the Korraks Revenge Battleground, you can earn more time of badges, some honor and there's an event quest from Chomie which rewards you with even more badges. There's also an achievement called Alterac Valley of Olde which rewards you with the stormpike battle ram for the horde and the frostwolf snarler for the alliance. Those achievements just require you to earn badges inside of Korraks Revenge. So it's pretty easy if you complete the quests in Alterac Valley.
This Battleground has also typically been a decent way to level your alts in the past as you gain experience for most activities during the Battleground. So if you still have some alts that you want to level up, Korraks Revenge might be a fun way to change things up while leveling.
Other Gearing Options
There's also a vendor over in Hillsbrad Foothills where the original Alterac Valley Battleground entrances were in vanilla and the time displaced vendor sells all sorts of iconic Alterac Valley items with boosted up item levels. For this year, the gear has been bumped up to item level 411 which isn't too great and it can't be upgraded at all. So it's not going to be a great source of gear, but it could be useful for newer players, returning players, your alts, or if you just want some of that unique looking transmog the items are going to cost you timewarped badges as well as marks of honor.
Caverns of Time Party & Old Rewards
And then we also have all of the usual random stuff going on down in the caverns of time. You can view old cinematics, watch the wow bands play, complete a daily trivia quest to earn extra timewarped badges and you can buy lots of fun anniversary items like costumes, toys, pets, wands, all the usual crazy stuff. If you don't buy anything else during this event, at least pick up the overtuned corgi goggles toy from this vendor, it's only 200 badges, it's a super fun toy, but it has also been used in trading post objectives in the past. So it might return in the future as well giving you even easier access for trading post objectives, is only available during this event.
Then if you weren't able to pick up the Illidari Doomhawk from previous anniversary events, that was the old mount reward from the Doomwalker world boss. You can now also purchase that for 5,000 timewarped badges from the event vendor.
